Behind the camera

Hi, I’m Samantha!

I’m a storyteller at heart. After five years as a journalist, I’ve transitioned into nonprofit storytelling at The Miami Foundation. My north star hasn’t changed: I’m drawn to the heart of a story and building it with care.

I’m a Florida Gator (Go Gators!) and a proud College of Journalism and Communications grad. My career has taken me from covering news in the Blue Ridge mountains with Spectrum News, to creating stories for nonprofits, small businesses and scholarship opportunities here in vibrant Miami. Along the way, I’ve crafted everything from radio documentaries and feature videos to social media ads, promo videos featured on NBA arena screens, and even Ballyhoo Boat ads.

I’ve been passionate about storytelling for as long as I can remember. My Grandma is my biggest inspiration as a filmmaker, and she even came up with the name for this business! My work has earned me a National Murrow Award as student journalist, but the real reward is telling stories that make a difference.

This business is also a tribute to my two grandfathers, who each built remarkable small businesses from the ground up and taught me to chase dreams that scare me. Their encouragement and example continue to guide every project I take on.

Outside of work, I love appreciating wildlife, cheering on Miami sports teams, exploring gluten-free menus, and diving into creative hobbies like art and antiquing.
